  • CNC and/or Manual precision machining and contract manufacturing / job shop experience required.
  • Proficient at CNC programming, set-up, and operation of CNC mill and/or lathes.
  • Well-versed in various types of programming, utilizing Mazatrol conversational programming.
    • Mazak and Mazatrol experience are not required.
  • Extensive knowledge of gages and measuring instruments.

Work Shift:

Position Summary

We have an immediate opening in our Quality Control department for a Dimensional Inspector.

  • CNC and/or manual precision machining and contract manufacturing / job shop experience, along with experience in assessing the geometric characteristics of precision machined parts are required.
  • Complete in-process, visual and/or dimensional inspections of precision machined parts using various precision measuring instruments, such as surface plate, height gage, calipers, and micrometers, and conventional inspection methods, such as a Faro Arm and CMM.
  • Ability to read and interpret customer blueprints or drawings, identify improper callouts / datum structures, and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance – GD&T.
  • Identify and report non-conformances.

Work Shift:

  • Monday through Thursday from 6 am – 4:30 pm.

Leadership Requirements:

  • Previous machinist supervisor experience required.
  • Proven ability to successfully understand, develop, and lead machinists with varying abilities and skills.
  • Ability to articulate in all forms of communication.
  • Exhibit excellent critical thinking and complex problem solving skills,

Machinist Requirements:

  • 10 years or more of CNC Precision Machining, contract manufacturing / job shop, Mazak, and Mazatrol experience required.
  • Extremely proficient and well-versed in CNC programming, set-up, and operation of CNC mill and/or lathes.
  • Extensive knowledge of gages and measuring instruments.

Work Shift:

  • Training period requires day shift hours (Monday through Thursday from 6 am – 4:30 pm.)
  • Night shift works Monday through Thursday from 4 pm – 2:30 am.

Work Schedule

  • Monday through Thursday with flexible shift times, though most work 6 am to 4:30 pm.
  • Overtime available on Friday’s.

  • Proficiency in assessing the geometric characteristics of precision machined parts. Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance (GD&T) is a must.
  • Ability to use precision measuring instruments such as surface plate, height gage, indicators, calipers, micrometers, gage blocks, thread gages, Faro Arm, and CMM.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct in-process, visual, and dimensional inspections of precision machined parts using a variety of precision measuring instruments.
  • Interpret customer blueprints or drawings, identify improper callouts/datum structures, and apply Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance (GD&T).

  • Proven experience in CNC and/or manual contract manufacturing precision machining, manufacturing techniques, raw materials, tooling, and fixturing.
  • Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning Software.
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001: 2015 and AS9100D Quality Management Systems.

Responsibilities

  • Review customer requests for quote to determine feasibility and pricing.
  • Identify all materials, tooling needs, and methods to manufacture precision machine components and assemblies.
  • Write and review routers to verify material requirements are documented correctly.
  • Determine internal manufacturing methods and monitor Advanced Planning Scheduling to fill open capacity.

  • Proven experience in writing and programming using LK Camio and Polyworks Software.
  • Manufacturing, dimensional measuring, quality, and/or machining experience required.
  • Strong understanding and proficiency in assessing the geometric characteristics of precision machined parts.
  • Ability to use precision measuring instruments such as gages, indicators, calipers, micrometers, and Faro Arm.

Responsibilities

  • Write and maintain programs using LK Camio and Polyworks Software to support in-process and final part inspection.
  • Run CMM parts on work that is currently in production
  • Ability to program with or without a CAD model.
  • Record set up records for part programs, label features, verify nominals, and compare actual measurements to the customer drawings.

  • Monday through Thursday from 6 am to 4:30 pm.
  • Overtime available on Friday’s.
